Russian tankers in traffic jam off coast of Turkey

MOSCOW, Dec 6 (PRIME) -- Six Russian oil tankers were jammed near the Strait of Bosporus on Tuesday, according to the marinetraffic portal.

The Financial Times reported on Monday that a traffic jam of oil tankers had formed near the Turkish coastline after the start of restrictions on the Russian oil prices because of Turkey's requirements to the insurance data.

According to marinetraffic, about 80% of the tankers are Turkish.

Alexei Bezborodov, managing partner of Infra Projects, told PRIME that vessels always stop at the Turkish coast to enter and exit the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits. The Russian tankers are unlikely to be banned, they just wait for their turn after the overnight anchorage.
